BODIES IN FLUX

Curated by Slam Jam and 2050+ at Spazio Maiocchi (Milan)

On March 15 I delivered a performative lecture titled  ‘Captioning What Bodies?’ in occasion of the public program Bodies in Flux at Spazio Maiocchi in Milan. Through a series of performances, lectures and interviews, Bodies in Flux focused on the idea that bodies should not be understood as fixed structures, but rather as expanding territories of experimentation and re-imagination, whose biological boundaries can be stretched, suspended or subverted, in negotiation with different kinds of technologies. As part of my presentation, I discussed the work ‘Motion Disabled’ by Simon Mckeown, ‘Feel My Metaverse’ by Keiken and ‘Level of Confidence’ by Rafael Lozano-Hemmer.

Amongst the presenters and performers also Andrea Lanfri, Massimo Coda, Helen Hester, Manel De Aguas and Anna Charlotte Barbera.
